| This is a picture of 'Premier
Tyres.' The location is the junction of Rea St and Bradford
St. Does anyone know what date this would be? Note the
police call box on the corner. Is the car being towed by the tram?
As well as tyres, this garage sold 'The Cox Atmos Petrol Saver'
according to an advert on the window. |

Another
great picture of 'The Premier Tyre Co' taken about 1935. The gentleman
in the centre is Mr W McGrath the proprieter, the young man stood to his
left is George Lodge. George Lodge went on to start his own business, 'The
Lodge Tyre Company' which is still trading today.
Look at some of the adverts, Austin 7 tyres were 14 shillings. ( see
also Nechells)
