Thanks to Ted & Maureen Rudge for this photograph.

Parade Service Stn. Hockley. The advert tells us that 'Regent petrol packs a punch'. This garage was on The Parade, Summerhill, can anyone tell me where exactly? Was this garage on the corner of The Parade and Camden St? Also was this garage in Hockley or Ladywood? Did this depend on which side of The Parade it was?

The Parade Service Garage stood at the corner of Camden Street and the Parade and in the 1940's and 1950's was run by a man named Larry Weston.
The photograph is taken from the Parade looking up Camden Street. I have got a similar photo knocking around in the filing cabinet and will forward it to you - if only I can find it!

Your site hasn't been updated for a few years.  I have only just found it and was wondering why Parade Service Station in Hockley was on the corner of Camden Street and the Parade?   Your photo must be late 40's early 50's as the site expanded sideways in the 50's.

I have a photo taken in the 50's that shows the forecourt expanding over the shops next door.  It later had a showroom built across the front but the white building to the left was still the offices until the end.

I knew it from the late 60's as I used to go there with my mother who worked there as a child when off school.

Great site.
