H.B.Maybury, Small Heath. I think this garage was in one of the Avenues off Green Lane. This is a classic type of garage that served the local community. It has a workshop, sells petrol and oils and the owner probably lived over the shop. Look at the oil dispenser cabinets, "Two gallon of super and a quart of oil please" |

found my fathers garage which at the time was know as HB Maybury, not sure
if your interested in correcting your information but I thought I would
mention a few errors listed, you mention that the owner probably lived
above the garage, my father (Bernard) actually live up the road on Yardley
Green Road and the upstairs was actually rented out most of the time, it
also mentioned he sold up and left to got to Weston Super Mare in the 60’s
he did sell up but in the early 80’s and to Tenbury Wells in Worcestershire
where he still works in and owns another Garage. |
