I remember Chancellors Garage in
Abbey St, off Lodge Road Winson Green.
I can't remember the chaps
name who owned it. I used to fetch paraffin from there as a kid. In the
office/shop I am sure there used to be a large fish in a glass case.
As I got older the owner would let me clean the spark plugs
for my motorbike on his Champion sand blasting
machine. I am now 52 years of age.
Do you remember
people getting their accumulator (battery) for the radio charged at a garage?
"Don't dare drop it or you'll be in for a good
hiding".
