I have been in the Birmingham motor trade all my working life. Found a couple of items that my be of interest to you reference Bramptons Service Station in Sparkhill.

I had a part time job in the car wash bay in the mid fifties.

First item is a mileage card from the station the other is an item from I think the Birmingham Evening Mail about 1956.

Wilf Brampton owner of the station next to Beryl Reid, prior to him setting off to film the Monte Carlo Rally. Photo taken on the forecourt of the station with Sparkhill Park in the back ground.

The car was a very rare Mark 1 Ford Zodiac Farnham Estate, white wall tyres, sun visor with spot lamps and chrome roof bars. Wilfs pride and joy as I remember.
